Ego Death
Jules spends an hour rebuilding samsara, the four noble truths and the eightfold path from the ground up, then turns all of it on himself. He runs from the wobbly axle of dukkha to the vultures that will eat his corpse, to the dead internet as a field of personal cemeteries, to a marketing machine that needs your ego hungry so it can keep selling you the next thing. His conclusion is that the title is a lie: there is no ego to kill, only a mirage to see through, and the practice is not killing desire but choosing which desires you keep. He ends up taking the Bhagavad Gita over nirvana, and the Desiderata line that hung in his grandparents' house: you are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars.
