Michael Knowles spends thirty minutes working over Genesis 6 with Timothy Alberino, the author and explorer his show bills as the Rogue Archaeologist, and this page rebuilds the whole exchange in order with both voices. Alberino's case is that the four verse snippet in Genesis is an allusion the writer never bothered to explain because his audience already knew the story, and that the full version is the Book of the Watchers in First Enoch: lust as the first cause, two hundred Watchers swearing an oath of mutual imprecations on the summit of Mount Hermon, the descent, the wives, and the giants. He then runs the same skeleton through Plato's Timaeus and Critias, where Poseidon takes Cleito and fathers the ten kings of Atlantis, and argues it is a one to one match. The payoff is a definition: an ancient Hebrew demon is not a fallen angel and not Satan, it is the disembodied spirit of a dead giant, hungry with no body to feed, which is why the spirits at Gadara scream that Jesus has come to judge them before the appointed time. Knowles pushes hard on Aquinas and the incorporeality of angels, and that objection never actually gets answered. A closing section separates what is documented from what is Alberino's own reading.
