Why You Wouldn’t Survive the D-Day Landing
A two hour night narration that puts you in the boat as nobody: a young, underfed allied soldier landing at Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944, seasick, soaked and carrying seventy pounds of gear into the worst four hundred yards of the war. Told entirely in the second person, it walks the whole morning from the briefing to the seawall, and every promise made in that briefing fails. The bombers overshoot by three miles, the swimming tanks sink, the rifle jams with sand, the radio operator walks away. This page rebuilds the narration in full and adds the historical record it deliberately leaves out.
