Brian Krehbiel interrogates Angelo DiLullo, MD, an anesthesiologist who says the sense of being a self behind his eyes stopped at age 24 and never came back. The format is a list of the biggest questions a person can ask, plus rapid fire statements lifted from New Age forums and Christian doctrine, put in front of him one at a time to see what survives. DiLullo rejects manifestation and reincarnation cosmology outright, declines the conspiracy material, and accepts the religious and contemplative claims only after rebuilding them in terms of present experience: sin as knowingly going unconscious, the resurrection as awakening, eternal as outside time rather than endless in time. He calls self inquiry the ultimate empiricism, reports that 5-MeO-DMT changed nothing permanent for him, and insists there is no enlightenment path with the trauma work removed. The last five minutes are the best: a kaleidoscope where every fragment co arises with every other, Indra's net, and a dark hallway where the lights come on only where you are standing and there is nobody in the hallway.
